7th Grade Weekly Focus #2:  Glowing Barker

 

The walls of Room 114 grew red-hot, and that's when things began to get strange.

 

Audience:  Fans of scary, quirky fiction in general and Clive Barker in particular.

Word Count: 275 - 300 Words (including the 15 words in the sentence above)

Friday, September 18:  Due For Editing/Revision In Class

 

Write a 1st or 3rd person narrative in the style of Clive Barker.  Don't steal from Mr. Barker directly, but emulate his style in some meaningful and noticeable way.  Refer to the Thief of Always or any other Barker work in creating your very short story. You will be graded on your ability to mimic Barker's style while providing your own story with your own....oomph.
